Here’s What We’re Looking Forward to at the HLTH 2022 Conference

10/28/2022

ixlayer is looking forward to connecting with industry peers, forward-thinking experts and engaging in thought-provoking discussions in person in a couple weeks. Our CEO and co-cofounder, Pouria Sanae, and the ixlayer team are sponsoring and exhibiting at HLTH in Las Vegas, from November 13th to 16th. The conference aims to break down silos and unite participants under one roof, for companies pushing the boundaries in the healthcare industry. ixlayer is proud to be a Silver Sponsor this year and to contribute to the conversation around improving access to healthcare and making it more patient-centric.

This four day event brings together the entire healthcare ecosystem, including: providers and health systems, payers and insurance companies, employers and benefits leaders, consumer technology and wellness, life sciences and pharma, government and health technology companies – all accelerating innovation and transformation in the healthcare industry.

Scrolling through the jam-packed agenda, there are over 100+ sessions taking place in a matter of four days. With so many great sessions to choose from, our marketing team curated a list of four sessions we’re excited to attend.

1. Pivot or Spiral: Remaining Agile as a Founder

November 13th, 1:50 – 2:30pm

Featuring:

  • John Driscoll, CEO | CareCentrix
  • Julia Hu, Co-Founder & CEO | Lark Health
  • Julie Yoo, General Partner | a16z
  • Mario Schlosser, Co-Founder & CEO | Oscar Health
  • Jordan Nof, Co-Founder and Managing Partner | Tusk Venture Partners (Moderator)

About the Session:

When the going gets tough, the tough gets going. At least these leaders did. When the model isn’t working, what’s the strategic move? Abandon and dissipate? Refuse the inevitable and risk a spiral? Or, door #3 – navigate. Seemingly easy answer, but when you’re in the trenches as a founder, it’s never that simple. What does it take to maneuver a skillful pivot towards smoother terrain leading you to success? Meet this stellar group of leaders who successfully navigated market uncertainty and have come out the other side with a sound business model and the stories to tell.

Why ixlayer is excited to attend: as a growth company, we’ve made these pivots and navigated uncertainty to put ourselves on solid ground.

2. The Spectrum of Primary Care Colors

November 13th, 2:40 – 3:20pm

Featuring:

  • Kyu Rhee, MD, MPP, Senior Vice President and Aetna Chief Medical Officer | CVS Health
  • Eren Bali, Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer | Carbon Health
  • Kristi Henderson DNP, SVP & CEO, Optum Everycare | Optum
  • Zak Holdsworth, Co-founder and CEO | Hint Health
  • Alyssa Jaffee, Partner | 7wireVentures (Moderator)

About the Session:

In the era of convenience, 45% of adults 18 – 29 years old do not have a primary care physician, 33% of millennials skip primary care visits and unsurprisingly, millennials account for 25% of all urgent care visits. With the absence of primary care, are we resorting to urgent care? Given the need to treat patients no matter the “door” they enter, should urgent care lean into this model or is there a better way to direct these MIA patients back into the primary care system? Perhaps concierge clinics, savvy virtual platforms, consumer-centric models or employer-sponsored direct primary care are just the thing to attract them!

Why we are excited to attend: there’s no denying the consumerization of healthcare and ixlayer offers a digital front door to make health testing more accessible for consumers.

3. NHIT Health Equity Breakfast

November 14th, 8:00 – 9:00am

Featuring:

  • Elizabeth Phillips Boudreau, International Head of Healthcare Workforce Development | AWS
  • Luis Belen, CEO | NHIT
  • MJ Jackson, VP, Global Head of Industries | DocuSign (Moderator)

About the Session:

For generations, we’ve witnessed a widening gap in health outcomes along racial and socioeconomic lines. Communities are looking to health systems for solutions, but nearly 80 percent of our health is influenced by factors outside clinic walls. Called the social determinants of health, these include housing stability, food access, community support, and other socioeconomic factors.

Health systems, along with other service providers and stakeholders, must address these social determinants where people live and work in order to close the health and wellness gap. Collaboration and effective partnerships are critical in establishing and maintaining equitable experiences for all patients, clinicians, and staff alike. Join this esteemed panel to learn how innovations are changing access, delivery, and coordination of care.

Why we are excited to attend: making health testing more accessible and affordable is ixlayer’s mission. At-home health tests help close the gaps in access to care by offering a convenient option that doesn’t require travel to a clinic or care site.

4. The Holy Grail of Preventative Health

November 15th, 10:10 – 10:50am

Featuring:

  • Chris Bischoff, Managing Director | General Catalyst (Moderator)
  • James Min, MD, Founder & CEO | Cleerly
  • Jennifer Brendel, Chief Commercial Officer | Sema4
  • Jorge Garces, Chief Science Officer | Exact Sciences
  • Omid Farokhzad, Chair, Chief Executive Officer and Founder | Seer

About the Session:

90% of health expenses go to treating disease and injury rather than preventative care. New data-driven diagnostics are changing this narrative and moving us towards a future where preventative medicine may not just be a futuristic term used at conferences. Genetic, protein and blood-based biomarkers paired with advanced AI/ML are giving clinicians much deeper insight into patient-specific health risks and the ability to build dynamic models of human health. We are creating a human source code to unlock true personalized medicine. Meet four pioneers in precision, preventive care.

Why we are excited to attend: not only are we attending to support our investor, General Catalyst, we also believe in changing the health care paradigm from sick care to preventive care with health testing.

With all of the healthcare ecosystems coming together, we are also eager to share our strategy on how we’re working with payors, biopharma, retail, providers and government organizations to drive more affordable, accessible health testing to consumers.

ixlayer provides the infrastructure behind making an at home testing program possible. By providing white-labeled diagnostics and screening products, it allows today’s most trusted brands to shine front and center.

This not only creates a seamless experience for consumers, but it drives customer loyalty and lifetime value through multiple branded touchpoints. It also allows brands like yours, to grow your product line without having to do the heavy lifting. ixlayer is an end-to-end solution, from distributing test kits all the way through to providing patients with results in a user friendly online portal – from start to finish, all under your brand.

At-home testing allows people to take control of their health and be proactive in making health decisions. They are able to collect their sample when and where it is convenient for them and in the privacy of their own home. There is no need to wait weeks to schedule a visit with a provider, take the time off from work to find a lab and then schedule an appointment to get your lab work done. With an at-home test kit, there are easy-to-use step-by-step instructions to collect your sample, the sample is sent back in a prepaid mailing box, and the results are delivered via a user-friendly online portal. ixlayer makes it that easy.
