AHIP22 interview: ixlayer CEO Pouria Sanae shares how health plans can deploy lab testing for members to close gaps in care

On June 21-23 2022, ixlayer was in the exhibit hall at America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) conference in Las Vegas, NV speaking to conference attendees about the importance of Health Testing for Everyone. AHIP is a national association that represents nearly 1,300 companies that offer health insurance to more than 200 million Americans. ixlayer is a Silver Sponsor of AHIP and proud to be part of the conversation that was focused on the insights and innovations driving the future of healthcare. As the platform that makes lab testing more accessible and affordable for everyone, ixlayer has the infrastructure to enable at-home testing at scale and drive the much needed change in our industry.

In the opening remarks by Matt Eyles, AHIP President and CEO, stated ”while we’ve experienced dramatic changes these past three years, some things have not changed. Like health care that still costs too much in our country. We are expected to spend $4.5 trillion on health care this year – 20% of our economy or nearly $14,000 for every person in the U.S.” As a member company, we are focused on health care affordability and continue to advocate for expanded access to health testing through our innovation.

During the event, CEO Pouria Sanae met up with Matthew Holt from The Health Care Blog to discuss how ixlayer’s solution offers health plans opportunities to improve HEDISⓇ scores, Star ratings, health outcomes, enhance member engagement and reduce cost of care. The conversation at AHIP focused on how ixlayer is working with three of the eight largest health plans to help them close gaps in care. Because ixlayer offers multi-modality for sample collection, health plans have the option for either at-home sample collection or sending a mobile phlebotomist to a member’s home. The entire premise for ixlayer is structured around meeting that member where they are to reduce the barriers to health testing.
