Trichomoniasis (or “Trich”) is a very common infection, affecting more women than men, caused by a protozoan parasite called Trichomonas vaginalis. 70% of people who have the parasite have no symptoms. According to the CDC, about 1 in 5 people contract trichomoniasis again shortly after treatment so follow-up testing is recommended.
